Nominals in ámman îar are inflected for definiteness, number, and case.

Although ámman îar has productive gender formatives -îel and -an, these are not considered inflectional. This is because these formatives are derivational rather than inflectional and are, therefore, discussed in the section dealing with derivational morphology. I make this distinction because these formatives grant clear semantic content to the roots to which they are applied while exhibiting no grammatical or syntactic functions such as agreement
